I have a Ph.D. in Applied Economics from the University of Minnesota (UMN). I am interested in development policy, macroeconomics, natural resource economics, impact evaluation, and spatial analysis.
I am currently an External Consultant for the World Bank Group and the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) Research Department. Formerly, I worked as an Economics Consultant for the IDB's Country Department Andean Group, as a Research Assistant at the UMN, and as an Economics Consultant for the IDB's Country Department Central America, Haiti, Mexico, Panama, and the Dominican Republic. I have also worked with INCAE Business School in Costa Rica and IESA's International Center for Energy and Environment in Venezuela.
I have taught econometrics, mathematics, macroeconomics, microeconomics, and principles of economics. I have also authored, co-authored, and reviewed multiple studies, mainly focused on Latin American countries.
I hold a B.A. in Economics from the Central University of Venezuela, a Master's degree in Applied Economics from the Andres Bello Catholic University (summa cum laude), a MicroMaster's certificate in Data, Economics, and Design of Policy from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and a professional certificate in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Essentials from the University of Alaska Fairbanks.
I was born and raised in Caracas, Venezuela, and I hold a U.S. green card under the National Interest Waiver (NIW) category.
